Dallas Miller, 91, passed
away at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City, IN on January 8, 2018.
Dallas was born in Pike
County, IN on March 9, 1926 to Joseph L and Bernice M (Loveless) Miller.
Dallas was a 1945 graduate
of Winslow High School. He married Rose Shafer on May 13, 1954.
Dallas is survived by two
sons, Tim and Tom Miller and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, wife, son Tony Miller, infant brother Joe and sisters, Jessie Ruth
Boyd and Beulah Bell.
Dallas resided most of his life in the Oakland City
area. Dallas worked at International Harvester for 10 years before his
employment with Blackfoot Coal Company as a coal miner and later became a Pit
boss at Old Ben Coal Company. Dallas was well known in the area for selling
over 200 wood burning stoves. He enjoyed cutting fire wood, gardening, horse
races and since 1988 was owner operator of Miller Hardware in Oakland City, IN.
Dallas was member of Oakland City Masonic Lodge #467.
Services will
be Friday Jan 12,2018 10:00 A.M. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel. Burial will be
in Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Rev. Darin D. Nossett
will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the
chapel.
