Norma J. Byrne, 83, formerly of Princeton, now living in Noblesville passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Noblesville.

She was born October 25, 1934 to Purvis and Georgia (Murray) Briner. She lived most of her life in Princeton and her younger years in Hazleton. She was a member of the Hazleton United Methodist Church.

She was a Registered Nurse attending the Good Samaritan School of Nursing, followed by getting her BSN from the University of Evansville. She then got her Masters from Indiana State University. She was a very caring person. She worked a short time at Gibson General Hospital and then the remainder of her career for North Gibson School Corporation as a school nurse until her retirement. She then volunteered with the Red Cross and for Camp Carson. She loved her pet and loved being with her grandchildren. She was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional society for female educators. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the American Nurses Association. She is survived by her daughter, Georgianne Parshall (Jim) of Westfield, IN; 2 grandchildren, Evan and Riley Parshall; and a sister, Ann Moore of Ypsilanti, Michigan. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Patrick “Pat” D. Byrne in 2008; and 2 brothers, George and Eugene “Gene” Briner.

Graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Sam Polito. Burial will follow. There will be no public visitation. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, family owned and operated, has been entrusted with arrangements.
