Theresa Anderson, 60, of Fort
Branch, IN, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at her home, following a
courageous battle with cancer.
She was born July 5, 1957 in
Evansville, the first child and only daughter of Jerry and Deloris (Klenck)
Anderson.
She departed this life as she
had lived it, surrounded by her parents, brothers and daughters.
Theresa had a lifelong gift of genuine caring and compassionate concern for
others. As a young girl, Theresa cared for her 5 younger brothers while her
parents worked. During this time an intense bond between her and her brothers
began. Theresa later worked at the Whirlpool plant for over 20 years, where she
served as a union steward in addition to her regular duties. This allowed her
to continue helping others. She was a devoted mother to three very active
daughters. She was enthusiastically involved in the girls’ participation in
dance, cheerleading and played hostess to their many friends. In recent years,
she proved to be as proud and involved with her three granddaughters as she was
with her own children. After working at Whirlpool until it’s close, Theresa
began a career in the medical field as a phlebotomist. Her position at Gateway
Medical Center, once again allowed her to nurture others with her special
talents. Patients often commented about Theresa’s ability to put them at ease
while painlessly performing necessary procedures.
Along with her parents, Jerry and Deloris Anderson of Fort Branch, she is
survived by three daughters: Michelle Johnson of Fort Branch, Decia (Ken) York
of New Harmony, Jonie (Cory) Lamb of Evansville; five brothers: Jerry (Jonie)
Anderson of Owensville, Roger (Deborah) Anderson of Oakland City, John Anderson
of Owensville, Steve (Becki) Anderson of Haubstadt and Ed Anderson of Fort
Branch; three granddaughters: Isabella York, Zoey Dunn and Cora Lamb; and her
fiance’ Rick Kirk of Fort Branch.
