Anna K. Mayer, 82, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City, IN.
She was born on Sept, 10, 1935 in Fort Branch, IN to the late Joseph and Albertina (Fieth) Spindler.
Anna was a retired Cook with Whirlpool Corp. in 1998. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN, a member of the St. Bernadettes Aux. In Haubstadt, IN, and the VFW Women’s Aux. Post 2714 in Fort Branch, IN.
Besides her parents, Anna is also preceded in death by her husband Anthony Mayer in 2016, a daughter Anna Stolz and 4 brothers, Robert, Joseph, John, and Henry Spindler.
She is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Brenda ( Jay) Halter of Vincennes, IN, Virlee (Jerry) Williams of Carmi. IL, and Jo (Larry) Michel of Fort Branch, IN, 1 sister Eva Miller of Fort Branch, IN, and a son-in-law Paul Stolz of Evansville, IN. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN, Fathers Tony Ernst and Ambrose Wanyonyi will be co-celebrants. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday Dec. 27, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN and again from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church on Thursday. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at the funeral home at 3:30 P.M. before the visitation begins.
