Oscar E. (Shady) Ross 81, of Francisco went home to be with
his Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 27,017.
Shady as he was known by many was born December 11, 1935 to Oscar & Ona (Burton) Ross.
He and his “Baby Doll” Margaret (Hamilton) Ross was married
on June 6, 1958 who survives.
They had daughters Debra(Dale) Ludwig of Rockport,
Sondra(Bruce) Haines of Oakland City and son Oscar(Bo) (Jessica) Ross of
Haubstadt, grandchildren Melanie Lemeron, Darian
Ross, Shelley & Kelley Ludwig, Kirsten Ross and Nolan Ross, great
grandchildren Katelyn, Taylor and Jeffery Lemeron
Shady is survived by 1 brother Bill (Rosie) Ross of Oakland
City, sisters Mary Miller of Sebring, Fl. and Shirley (Jake) Woolsey of
Darmstadt.
Shady was preceded in death by his parents, bother Frank
Ross & sisters Dean Thomson and Snofa Hanes.
Shady served in the Army and National Guard he was deployed
to Germany where he served with Elvis Pressley. After his military service he
returned to Francisco and was a farmer until his retirement on 1/1/2004. Shady
served as a Deacon at Francisco General Baptist Church since 2/22/1998 and as a
Trustee for several years prior. Shady also served on the East Gibson School
Board and worked hard to ensure the rebuilding of the Francisco Elementary
School. Shady loved playing basketball,
fishing & spending time at their cabin and on their pontoon at Lake
Barkley.
Services will 11:00 A.M Saturday Dec. 2, 2017 at Francisco General Baptist Church with Rev. Katheryn Webb officiating. Burial will take place in Francisco Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Friday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel and from 9:30 A.M. until services on Saturday at the Church.
