Charles L. Adler, 89, formerly of Fort Branch, IN, passed away at
Harrison Crossing Nursing Home in Terre Haute, IN on November 23, 2017.
He was born to the late Oscar and Elvera (Riffert) Adler in
Haubstadt, IN on December 9, 1927.
Charles
was formerly a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN and
currently a member of St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church in Terre Haute. He
was a member of the Haubstadt Knights of Columbus as well. Charles was a
veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He was also a
Supervisor at Whirlpool for over 40 years.
Besides
his parents, Charles is preceded in death by two brothers; Norbert Adler and
Oscar J. Adler, Jr.
He
is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jessie Adler of Terre Haute, IN, 3
children; Dean Adler of Indianapolis, IN, Kent Adler of Indianapolis, IN, and
Theresa Adler of Terre Haute, IN, one brother; Armon
Adler of Evansville, IN, 2 sisters; ImoGene Rexing of Evansville, IN and Mary Lee Elpers
of Dale, IN, and 3 grandchildren.
A
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM
at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN with Fathers Tony Ernst and
Ambrose Wanyonyi as co-celebrants. Visitation will be
on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Catholic
Church with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery to follow. Military Honors services
will be held at the cemetery after committal services.
