Dorothy B. Wirth, 96, of Princeton, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
She was born October 30, 1920 in Princeton to the late Charles and Cora (Ward) Vitito.
She was enrolled as a soldier in the Salvation Army, June 25, 1939 by Ray Marshall and became the Young Peoples Sargeant Major of the Princeton Salvation Army in November of 1955 and remained very active with them for many years. She had also worked at the former Emerson Cafeteria in Princeton for many years. Dorothy was a loving, caring mom and grandmother, who never met a stranger and was always looking out for others.
She is survived by her children, Robert Wirth (Martha Schaffer), Grace Thomas, Martha Lloyd (James) and Charles Wirth (Carrie Burrel); 13 grandchildren, James Lloyd Jr. (Joann), Stephen Thomas, William Wirth (Annette), Bradley Wirth (Kristie), Branden Wirth (Angela), Jackie Zerr (Rob), Jeremy Lloyd (Kelly Reinhardt), Jennifer Lloyd (Devere Schaffer), Jason Bradshaw, Brian Wirth, Chuck Montz, April Goldsberry and Danny Bailey; 26 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Wirth; a son, William Wirth; a granddaughter, Stephanie Montz and 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor James Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Decker Cemetery, rural Patoka. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Colvin Funeral Home.
