Charles A. Wilhite, 73, of Haubstadt, IN passed away at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, IN on October 21, 2017.
He was born to the late Jesse Ray and Helen Louise (Kiesel) Wilhite on November 11, 1943 in Princeton, IN.
Charlie was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN and a Brute Award Recipient, 50 year member of the Haubstadt Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul, Former Johnson Township Trustee, Member of the Haubstadt Sommerfest, where he was a past President, Sommerfest chairmen and Lead Chef, he cooked for soup kitchens anytime anywhere, and a member of the Bar-B-Quers for Charity which do benefits for autism, United Caring, and needy families. Charlie and his wife Sandy are co-founders of Sandy’s Pizza in Fort Branch, IN and operated it for 38 years. Charlie was proud of his pizza business. They were honored to be named the Grand Marshall of the Haubstadt Sommerfest parade in 2017. Charlie was a “Jack of all trades” and loved a good challenge.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Sandra K. (Bledsoe) Wilhite of Haubstadt, IN, 3 children; John Wilhite of Fort Branch, IN, Joella (Jerry) Hipp of Haubstadt, IN, and Brett (Denise) Wilhite of Indianapolis, IN, 2 siblings; Janet (Tom) Dewig of Haubstadt, IN and Gerald (Laurie) Wilhite of Santa Claus, IN, 1 brother-in-law; Gerald (Trudy) Bledsoe of Fort Branch, IN, and 5 grandchildren; Jacob, Jenna, and Joseph Hipp and Bailey and Natalie Wilhite.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN with Fathers Tony Ernst and Ambrose Wanyonyi as co-celebrants. Visitation will be on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN with a Rosary service at 1:30 PM and again on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church from 9:30 AM to service time. Burial will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Haubstadt, IN.
