James T. Banet, 67 passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville.
He was born Nov. 9, 1949 in Princeton to Gerald and Venetta (Kendle) Banet.
Jimmy moved back to Princeton in 2009 after living in Sacramento CA for several years. He worked as a manager at Kmart Foods and retired as a manager of Wesselman’s Grocery in Evansville. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a former member of the American Legion Post 25. He was also a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton.
He is survived by a daughter, Lashel Montgomery of Encinitas, CA; 3 grandchildren, Savannah, Brandon and Blake Montgomery of California; 2 sisters, Jane Ann Slinker (Bill) of Newburgh, Judy Hyneman (Bret) of Mt Olympus; 2 brothers, Jerry Banet (Lynda) of Princeton and Johnny Banet (Vicki) of Mt. Olympus; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Bernedette Banet and a sister-in-law, Lois Banet.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2017 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton with Fr. Brian Emmick as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday at the church. Military service will be held at the graveside by Retired Military Veterans. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
