D. Maxine Rothrock, 87, of Oakland City, Indiana passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at her home in Oakland City.
She was born January 10, 1930 in Princeton, Indiana to Erastus J. and Fannie M. (McDonald) Selby.
She was a school bus driver for East Gibson School and Pike-Gibson Co-op for 12 years and then also worked as an EMT for Gibson County Ambulance service. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and loved canning vegetables.
She is survived by her son, Dan Rothrock (Patricia) of Winslow; daughters, Linda Parker (Pete) of Winslow, Sherry Moody (Dave) of Oakland City, Melissa McDonald (Rusty) of Winslow; 6 grandchildren, Maia Rothrock, Rachel Bolin, Alan Strickland, Joseph & Benjamin Strickland and Amanda McDonald; 6 great grandchildren, Jacob & Sarah Bolin, Alexis Strickland, Sydney Strickland, Ella Strickland and Lillian Strickland; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Selby (Mary Lou) of Owensville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Hubert “Dan” Rothrock; granddaughter, Kelsie McDonald; and sister, Olive Hurt.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm (CST) on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Larry Hurt officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery in Pike County. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm (CST) on Wednesday at the funeral home.
