Jewel Maxine (Bush) Newman, 94, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
She was born April 28, 1923 in Gibson County to the late
William Orville and Brittie Ethel (Bowman)
Bush.
Maxine was a graduate of Owensville High School class of 1941.
Married William Robert Newman on June 22, 1946 together raised three children.
She worked and retired from Emge
Packing Company, Inc. She had owned The Smart Shop where she sold and altered
women’s apparel. She was Christian and
loved our Lord. She was a member of Owensville First Christian Church.
She was a wonderful wife and mother. She loved her family with all her heart.
She loved to cook, bake, sew and make gifts for her family and friends. She was
blessed to have a green thumb and loved tending to her flowers.
Survivors include her children, Jane Ann Mowery, William Jon
“Billy” (Herma)Newman and Leisa (Brent) Bosecker;
sister, Margaret Yeager, 6 grandchildren, Kevin Mowery, Janna Easton, Brittany
and Colton Bosecker, Heather Wolfe and Ivy Grace
Newman; 5 great-grandchildren, Justin and Peyton Grimm, Connor, Chloe and
Christian Mowery; 1 great-great-granddaughter, Crimson Mowery; several nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William
Robert Newman in 2004, son-in-law, Ronald E. Mowery; siblings, Marcelle Dierlam, Vera Lucille Bush, Alice Strickland, James,
Robert, John and William O. Bush, Jr.
Services will be Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 11:00 am
at Holders Funeral Home with Bart Newton officiating. Burial will be in the
Liberty Cemetery in Cynthiana.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home and again on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the service hour.
