June R. Gabbard age 90, of Princeton, passed away on
Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Gibson General Hospital located in Princeton.
June was born on Thursday, June 2, 1927 in Gibson County to Delaska and Mae (Gough) Armstrong, both of whom precede.
June is a 1944 graduate of Mt. Olympus High School and also
a 1948 proud graduate of the Deaconess School of Nursing. June was a registered
nurse and worked for Dr. William Wells of Princeton, retiring after 27 years.
June was a lifelong area resident and attended the New Life Nazarene Church of
Princeton. She was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star #281 of Patoka.
She was also a member and past president of The VFW Ladies Auxiliary as well as
a Former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Beth Gibson of Princeton and
2 granddaughters, Amy (Tyrone) Greene and Amanda Gibson. Also surviving are 5
step grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren.
June is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband
George Rike in 1969; second husband Bill Gabbard in
2006 and son, Patrick Rike in 1971. She is also
preceded by a brother Allen B Armstrong.
The family has entrusted Doyle Funeral Home with
arrangements.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, September 15,
2017 at Doyle Funeral Home located at 520 S. Main St. in Princeton, IN 47670
with Pastor Andrew Johnson officiating with internment
in Mt. Olive Cemetery located in Mt Olympus.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with
the VFW ladies Auxiliary service at 7:00 pm.
