Kenneth A. Elpers, 82, of Haubstadt, IN passed away on September 20,2017 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN. He was born to the late Aloysius and Marie (Halbig) Elpers on January 9, 1935 in Haubstadt, IN.

He had worked at Emge Packing Co. and Excel Corp. for 44 years and Dewig Meats for 16 years, retiring in September 2015. He also farmed for 26 years. He loved working in meat cutting and packaging, but his true passion was farming. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN.

Kenny loved to play cards, dance, and be around people.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Alberta “Bert” (Koberstein) Elpers in May of 2014; sisters Jeanette Hall, Wilma Gumbel and Jeanne Elpers.

He is survived by his son, Duane Elpers and his wife Peg and their children; Jessica and Jason Hoesli and their son Jackson of Evansville, IN, Jacob and his wife Kalyn Elpers of Haubstadt, IN; Son, Lynn Elpers and his wife Cindy and their children; Brant Elpers and Evan Elpers of Haubstadt, IN, Matt and Emily Fougnies and their children Garrett and Emerson of Owensville, IN, Zach Fougnies (Sabrina) and his daughter Willow of Fort Branch, IN, Sabrina Fougnies and her sons Josiah and Jairus of Princeton, IN; brother Harry Elpers of Evansville, IN; sisters, Eileen (Bill) Wassmer of Poseyville, IN , Imogene (Richard) Baehl of Evansville, IN, and Sharon (Jerry) Wassmer of Poseyville, IN. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN at 10:00 AM with Fathers Tony Ernst and Ambrose Wanyanyi as co-celebrants. Rosary services will be held on Firday, September 22, 2017 at 2:30 PM at Stodghill Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch,IN from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery following service.
