Virginia P. Ott, 91 of Princeton, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at The Waters of Princeton.  

She was born October 12, 1925 in Gibson County to David and Ruth Ellen (McEllhiney) Dunning.

Virginia and her first husband William Vance owned and operated a funeral home in West Virginia prior to his death. She then moved back to the Princeton area from West Virginia in 1961. She worked for the Gibson County Ambulance Service during its inception and helped to get it operational. She worked for Wright Jewelry in Vincennes and Princeton for many years.  She served in U.S. Marines, during WW II and was stationed in Seattle, Washington.  She was a member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by 3 children, Barbara Lacy of Ft. Branch, Rhonda Carl (Butch) of Evansville and Thomas M. Vance (Bonnie) of Evansville; step-son, David Ott of Samsula, FL; 10 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Dunning and her mother, Ruth Ellen (McEllhiney) Dunning Deffendall; first husband William Vance and second husband Henry Jackson Ott; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Mark Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the Francisco Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
