Cheryl E. Burns, 72, of Francisco, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

She was born November 9, 1944 in Kansas City, MO to Oris Orvel Wilson and Margaret Mary (Schmitz) Wilson Shay.

She lived in Francisco for the last 49 years coming from Pilot Grove, MO. She was raised in the Catholic faith. She retired as the assistant manager of the Buehler’s IGA. She was an avid reader and enjoyed arts & crafts and quilting.

She is survived by her 3 children, Jeff Burns (Misty) of Ft. Branch, Laura Burns (Michael Miller) of Oakland City and Lonie Burns (Kelly) of Ft. Branch; 5 grandchildren, Stephen, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Austin and Abby Burns; 5 sisters, Mary, Margie, Betty, Sarah and Barbara; and a brother, Robert.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wendell Burns in 2011; sister, Judy; brother, Sam; and 2 grandchildren.

At 1 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 there will be a Rosary prayed followed by a funeral service at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Corey Atkins.

Burial will be in the Providence Cemetery near Francisco, IN. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at Colvin Funeral Home.
