Eugene A. “Gene” Pohl, age 75
passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He was born October 12, 1941
in Haubstadt to the late Victor and Catherine (Waterman) Pohl.
He retired as parts manager
of Weiss Motor Sales in Haubstadt for over 40 years.
He graduated from Haubstadt High School as Valedictorian of his class. Gene was
a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, Knights of St. John
#345. He enjoyed playing Clabber & gardening.
Also preceding him in death were 2 brothers, Harold & Robert Pohl.
Gene is survived by his wife, Janice (Fendel) Pohl; 2 sisters, Sr. Victoria
Pohl, O.S.B., PHD of Ferdinand, Marilyn (Mike) Ankenbrand of Belmont, IL. 2
brothers, Donald (Sharon) and Fred (Melba) Pohl all of Fort Branch. 2
brother-in laws, Maurice (Judy) Fendel of Indianapolis and Leon (Ruth) Fendel
of Evansville. 4 sister-in- laws: Sr. Christine Marie Fendel, O.S.B. of
Ferdinand, Virginia (David) Whitmer of Evansville, Bernadette Pohl of Fort
Branch and Norma Pohl of Haubstadt.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 8 at Holy Cross
Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in
Haubstadt.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 PM Wednesday, June 7 at Wade Funeral Home in
Haubstadt with a Rosary service beginning at 2:30 PM. Friends may also call
from 9 to 10 AM Thursday at the church.
