Joe Louis Wade, 82, passed away at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh IN on May 30, 2017.

He was born on October 12, 1934 the son of Adolf and Bertie Ann (Rodgers) Wade in Owensville.

He married Betty Memmer on March 5, 1971 and she survives.

He attended Dayspring Community Church in Owensville. He enjoyed to fish for bass and bluegill, watching IU Basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals, and country music. He played with the Creek Brothers in a country western band. Joe worked for Purdue Experimental Farms in Johnson, Emge Packing Co and Excel Corporation. He also farmed with his father growing up.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Betty, one daughter Andrea (Dennis) Mills and one grandson Devin Mills. He is also survived by sister-in-law Lois Wade and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers Howard, Herman, Raymond, George and James Wade, and 4 sisters Goldie Roberts, Marie Melander, Mary Lee Wade and Dorothy Lorean Wade.

Funeral services will be on Friday June 2 at 11 am at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville IN with Pastor Scott Burr officiating. Burial will follow in Owensville Cemetery. A visitation will be on Friday June 2 from 9 am until the time of service at Holders Funeral Home.
