Nick Van Nielen III, age 65, of Haubstadt, Indiana, passed away on May 28, 2017, at Charlier Hospice in Evansville, Indiana.

Nick was born in Norman, Oklahoma, to Nicholas and Mary “Genie” Van Nielen on January 5, 1952.

He graduated from Haubstadt High School in 1970. Nick also attended University of Evansville and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He worked as a Project Manager in Houston, Texas, for several years. He moved back to Haubstadt when he was diagnosed with his illness. Nick was an avid fan of the University of Oklahoma (OU). Go Boomer Sooner!

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Nick is survived by his daughter, Nikki Van Nielen and son, Dominic Van Nielen and his wife, Brittany and their children, Miles and Penelope Van Nielen.

He has two surviving sisters, Gretchen (Ed) Fleming, Chandler, IN and Katrina (Roger) Martin and a niece, Amy Martin and nephew, Eric Martin of Haubstadt, IN.

Visitation will be at Wade Funeral Home in Haubstadt, Indiana on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Wade Funeral Home. Pastor Jack Wieland, Chandler Cumberland Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Church Cemetery in Warrenton, Indiana.
