Charles Robert “Bob” Phillips, 84, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN on May 25, 2017.
He was born to the late Charles and Vada (McCarty) Phillips in Fort Branch, IN on October 27, 1932.
Bob was a graduate of Fort Branch High School and joined the United States Air Force after graduation. He was in the service for 4 years. He graduated from the University of Evansville with a Masters’ Degree in Accounting and became employed as controller at Gamco Products in Henderson, KY. He retired from Gamco after 32 years. He was always involved in community activities and served in The Lion’s Club, Gideans, Salvation Army, and his church, First United Methodist Church in Henderson, KY. Bob loved to travel and after retirement he and his wife June travelled to 7 continents and all 50 states. Bob loved his family, his church, his friends, his Saturday morning bible study, SS Class, and Sunday Lunch Bunch.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, June (Upton) Phillips, daughters Melinda (TJ) Kackowski and Kim (Neal) Mathias, grandchildren Mitchell and Rachael Mathias, Emma and Ted Kackowski, Elizabeth and Andy Cala, sister, Nancy Harper and several nieces and nephews.
