Veda Mae Mayer, 50, of Owensville, passed away on Monday May 1, 2017 at Transcendent Health Care of Owensville.
She was born the only daughter to Harry Leonard and Sylvia M. (Pugh) Watson on February 2, 1967 in Gibson County.
She graduated from Gibson Southern High School class of 1985. She worked at H&R Block as a tax professional for 11 years. Veda was a member of the Nazarene church where she served as a Sunday School Superintendent. She enjoyed junkin’, crocheting, crafts and loved animals. As she was battling cancer, she was so proud to have been able to walk in the Race for a Cure for the past 13 years.
Veda is survived by her four children; Nicole (Patrick) Adams, Leroy (Whitney) Mayer, Brandy Mayer, and Eliza Dill; four grandchildren Nicholas, Joshua, Matthew, and Sarah Adams.
She is also survived by her sister and lifetime best friend Ina (George) Farler, aunt, uncles, and many cousins.
Preceding Veda in death are her grandparents, parents, aunts, and uncles. Funeral services will be Friday, May 5, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Holders Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Delp and Paul Gates officiating. Burial will be in the Maumee Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 5-8 p.m.
