Laura M. “Dutch” Hays, 87, formerly of Princeton, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Deaconess VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, IN.

She was born March 5, 1930 in Oakland City, IN to William and Eloise (Nelson) Wells, both deceased.

She spent the last 5 years at the Newburgh Healthcare Center with her husband, Willard, near two of their children. She was a member of the Tower Heights Church of God in Princeton. She had been very involved in the church and sang in their choir.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Willard Hays of Newburgh; 4 children, Eddie Hays of Newburgh, Diana Dick (Larry) of Newburgh, Dennis Hays (Vicky) of Henryville, IN and Michael Hays of Clarksville, IN; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Bill Wells of Winslow, IN; and 2 sisters, Sue Beck of Virginia and Patty Cook of Otwell, IN.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Fred Denton officiating. Burial will at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time on Monday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
