William O. Bush, Jr., 85, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville with his wife Laretta by his side.
He was born February 27, 1932 in Gibson County to the late William Orville and Brittie (Bowman) Bush.
Junior graduated from Owensville High School class of 1952, served his country in the United States Army Air Corps serving in the 867th Aviation Battalion. He was a lifetime member of the Prince Lodge 231, Scottish Rite, American Legion Post 51 and the Owensville First Christian Church. He had worked at Emge Packing Company, owned and operated Brittie’s Best Popcorn, worked as a pumper retiring from M.E.P. CO Oil Company and was an independent oil producer.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Laretta (Peach); children, Gary (Rella Mae) Bush of Owensville, Tammy Teeters (Bobby McGowan) of Oakland City, Debbie (Tim) Selby of Owensville; 12 grandchildren, Brian (Cindy) Bush, Adam (Stacy) Bush, DeWayne Bush, Clifton Teeters, Brittan (Abby) Bush, Timothy Bush Jamie Bush, Charity Bush, Brittany Bush, Seth Birdwell, Chris and Josh Wilhite; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margaret Yeager and Maxine Newman; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Ronald Bush; grandson, Kerry Ray Teeters, great-grandson, Leo Wayne Teeters; Siblings, Marcelle Dierlam, Alice Strickland, Vera Lucille, James, Robert, John Bush.
Services will be Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Holders Funeral Home with Bart Newton officiating. Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the retired military veterans. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic service at 7 pm conducted by Prince Lodge # 231.
