Elizabeth Anne Betty Young, 87, of Boonville, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Woodmont Health Campus. 

She was born in Elkhart, Indiana on July 5, 1929 to the late Olfonso E. Dick and Viola Grace (Heldt) Waugh. 

The family lived in Millersburg and Elberfeld. She attended Elberfeld High School until her senior year, when the family moved to Evansville. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1947. She worked in the office at Mead Johnson Terminal. Betty married Milton Ray Young on February 8, 1952. They celebrated 61 years of marriage, before Milton passed away in July of 2013. Betty served as a Room Mother and Camp Fire Girl Assistant Leader. Later she worked at the Tri-County Credit Bureau. At the time of her death she was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ. 

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Young of Boonville, two grandchildren, Katie Kempf of Boonville, Steven (Amanda) Kempf of Culpeper, VA; two great-granddaughters, Kennedy Haire, and Amelia Kempf, sister, Jeanne Statham, of Boston, MA; Sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Waugh of Brookville, OH; Many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Womack, brother, David Waugh. 
Services are 2 P.M. Friday, March 17, 2017 at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel in Boonville, Indiana. Burial is in Nobles Chapel in Elberfeld, Indiana. 
Visitation is from 10 A.M. until 2 P.M. Friday, March 17, 2017 at the funeral home. .
