Dorris Gene Stuckey, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in Evansville at River Pointe Health Campus surrounded by his family.
He was born September 28, 1932 in Buckskin, IN.
He had lived most of his life in Owensville residing in Evansville for the last ten years. He attended Mackey School. Served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 1990 after 40 years of service. He was also a melon farmers in Montgomery Township.
Gene married Maxine (Watson) on March 2, 1956 in Evansville, together they raised four children.
Gene was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2714 of Fort Branch and the American Legion Post 278 Poseyville. He loved to fish and enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and IU Basketball.
Survivors include his children, Mike (Ann) and Tom (Vivian) Stuckey of Evansville, Donna (Jerrel) Cotton of Newburgh and Judy (Jeff) Williamson of Fort Branch; 7 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 8 step great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Jake.
He was preceded in death by his mother Verlie Stuckey; wife of 34 years Maxine; siblings, Glennie Mallory and Bill Stuckey.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Holders Funeral Home with Rev. Kerry Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Maumee Cemetery with full military rites conducted by VFW Post 2714. Visitation will be Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
