Joyce Raye Nelson, 87, of Evansville and formerly of Elberfeld, IN, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

She was born November 17, 1929 in Buckskin, IN.

She was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a son, Billy R. Nelson (Karen) of Springfield, TN; a daughter, Brenda Craig of Evansville;      4 grandchildren, Shelly R. Titus (Tom), Jenny A. Keck (John), Matt Craig (Jamie) and Jackie Crowe (Aaron); and 11 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Edward Moore of Southgate, Michigan and Bill Moore of Winslow, IN; 1 sister, Laura Warren of Elberfeld.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Raymond E. Nelson on March 12, 2017; parents, Woodrow and Dollie McClary; “Mom” Gladys Moore; and siblings, Herman “Newby” Moore, Lois Sunderland and Nina Mason.

Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home, 323 North Main Street, Oakland City, IN 47660. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Elberfeld. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
