Esther D. (Hickrod) Jenkins, 77, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville.

She was born August 14, 1939 in Gibson County to the late Clarence and Lilly Rose (Ringham) Hickrod.

Esther was a homemaker, member of the Fort Branch United Methodist Church and the Francisco Lions Club.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John whom she married in Haubstadt on May 18, 1957; two children Charles H. Jenkins and Rose M. J. Saunders (James); two grandchildren, Johnathon W. Jenkins-Spindler and Kayla Greentree; one great-granddaughter, Kailani Greentree; siblings, Ed Hickrod, Carol Ann Mason (Jim), Dottie Weber (Ed); several nieces and nephews.

Services for Esther will be Saturday March 25, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Fort Branch United Methodist Church corner of Main and Vine Streets in Fort Branch with Pastor John Baylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Maumee Cemetery in Johnson. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the service time at the church.
