Eva Laswell Brashears 85 of Oakland City entered rest on Sunday March 26, 2017 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.

She was born on November 15,1931 in Mackey to Luther & Delema (Coleman) Laswell. 

She graduated from Oakland City HS in 1950, worked as Executive Secretary for vice president at Mead Johnson for 45 years. She also taught piano and organ at music stores in Evansville for many years. She moved to Pike County in 2006 to be near family, she enjoyed her horses and pets.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Jack Laswell and Phillip Laswell. 

She is survived by her husband M. Charles R. Brashears, brothers: David (Deatra) Laswell of Winslow, Wayne Laswell of Indianapolis, IN, step-daughters; Brenda Thomas of Evansville, Donna Anderson of Missouri, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and step-grandchildren.

Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday March 30, 2017 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with burial in Augusta Cemetery, Kenyon Coleman and Nathan Pedigo officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at the chapel.
