Gary J. Dewig, age 59, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017.
Gary was born in Evansville on September 3, 1957 to the late William and Helen (Tiepe) Dewig.
He was employed at Dewig Meats for
45 years.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic
Church. Gary was also a volunteer firefighter and First Responder for the
Haubstadt Fire Dept. for 31 years.
He had a love for cars and was especially proud to enter his Model A Ford in
the annual Frog Follies.
Also preceding him in death were 2 brothers, Charles and Paul Dewig.
Gary is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathryn (Effinger)
Dewig, two daughters, Jennifer (Shawn) Heavrin of Princeton and Jamie Dewig
of Haubstadt. Two sons, Joseph (Katie) Dewig of
Vincennes and Johnny Dewig of Haubstadt. Three grandchildren.
Three sisters; Sharon Spindler, Rosemary Weber and Diane Hornby all of
Haubstadt. One brother, Kenny Dewig of Johnson. Nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 14 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with burial following
in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Monday, February 13
at Wade Funeral Home with a Rosary service beginning at 1:30 PM. Visitation
will also be held from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday at the church.
