Maymie G. Wells, 91 of Princeton, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
She was born December 29, 1925 in Ash Flat, Arkansas, to Oscar and Lucille (Martin) Gibbins.
Maymie was a homemaker and had lived in Gibson County for the past 61 years. She was a member of the Hillside United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being with her family especially her 10 great-grandchildren. She felt blessed with her great-grandchildren and thought of them as the light of her life. She had said if she thought there were going to be more coming she would stay around a while longer.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Donna Blake (Bruce Eckstein), Karen Smith (Scott), Irene Gail Wells (Randall Abler), Tina Wells, and Juli Wells (Paul McMahon); 8 Grandchildren, Adric Eckstein, Jessica Smith Rosenstrauch, Caleb Smith, Loganne Smith, Celena McCandless, Brittany Langley, Shayla Langley and Tessa Langley; and her 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hugh O. Wells in 2005; an infant daughter, Celena Dawn Wells; and 3 sisters.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will also take place at a later date in Arkansas, next to her husband and daughter.
