Mary Lou Pruitt, age 96 passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
She was born in Haubstadt on October 27, 1920 to the late
Michael and Ada (Wetherly) Hisker. Mary Lou was a telephone switchboard
operator prior to getting married.
She was a life- long resident of Haubstadt. She graduated from Haubstadt High
School in 1938.
She married George W. Pruitt on June 27, 1941. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1991 as well as a son, George E. Pruitt on March 31, 2014.
Mary Lou was a lifetime member of Sts.
Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was an 80 year member of Daughters of
Isabella Circle #151; The Altar Society, St. Bernadette Auxiliary #280,
American Legion Auxiliary and AARP.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Karen (Ed) Kyle of Haubstadt. 2
grandsons, Michael (Cathy) Kyle and Greg (Shellie) Kyle. 5 great-grandchildren:
Breanna, Alexis, Isabelle, Ian and Ava Kyle. 1 sister-in-law, Flora Mae Cuttler of Shelbyville, IL.
A Mass of Christian of burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 12 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Ernst as
celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, January 11 at Wade Funeral Home with
a Rosary service beginning at 3:45 PM. Friends may also call Thursday, January
12 from 10:00 AM until Mass time at the church.
