Harry G. Morrison, 87 of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the West River Health Campus in Evansville.
He was born February 13, 1929, in Princeton to Harry C. and Ada Jane (Maxam) Morrison.
Harry was a former Gibson County Surveyor for 44 years. He also was a farmer and had lived in Gibson County all of his life. He graduated from Princeton High School and from Vincennes University with an Associate’s Degree in Surveying and he also attended Purdue University.
He was a former member of the United Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Prince Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite and a former member of the Hadi Shrine, Elks Lodge and the Eagles Lodge.
Harry is survived by his wife Mildred (Schroeder) Morrison of Princeton, to whom he married Dec. 26, 1954; his children and their spouses, Dennis and Judy Morrison of Evansville, Kathy and Doug Gamble of Raleigh, NC, and Bryan and Emily Morrison of Mt. Vernon; 5 grandchildren, Benjamin Gamble, Sarah Albrecht, Jennifer Choisser, Kenneth Morrison and Reid Morrison; 5 great grandchildren; twin brother, Donald Morrison of Bradenton, FL; sister, Jean McGregor of Oakland City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Sam Morrison in 2008, brothers, Lowell and Leeland; sisters, Mary Helen Barney and Betty Carol Morrison.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Douglas Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia “White" Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
