Monica R. Mahan, 62, of
Princeton Indiana left this world to be with her Lord on Monday, January 2,
2017.
She was born on December 19,
1954 to Al and Bettye (Yeager) Stolz and grew up on
their family farm.
Monica attended Oakland City
School and graduated from Wood Memorial High School where she was a member of
chorus and played the viola in orchestra and Strads of Wood. After graduation,
Monica married Rick Mahan on
August 3, 1973. They spent the next 43 years raising their four children and
watching their grandchildren grow while living on the Mahan family farm. Monica
worked in various positions in her church, teaching, directing Bible School and
singing in the choir and also with a group. Her love of being a mother kept her
involved in many activities of school, sports and church. Monica and Rick
currently attend Bethel Memorial Church.
Monica was preceded in death
by her father, Al Stolz, and her brother, Terry Stolz.
Left to cherish her memory
are her husband, Rick Mahan; son and daughter-in-law, Clay and Irish and
grandchildren, Samantha and Eli Mahan, Prosper, Texas; son, Kurt and
grandchildren, Abigail, Gavin and Lyla Mahan, Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania;
son, Cory Mahan, Princeton; daughter, Laura Mahan, Princeton; mother, Bettye Stolz, Oakland City; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and
Danny Scott, Oakland City; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Kris Stolz, Fayetteville, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law,
John and Linda Stolz, Oakland City; sister-in-law,
Doris Stolz, Oakland City as well as nieces, nephews,
and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be
held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Bethel Memorial Church, 1520
S. Main Street, Princeton with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. Burial will
follow at Fairview Cemetery, Princeton. There will be no visitation. Colvin
Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with arrangements.
