Mary C. Hughes, 66 of Oakland City passed on January 31, 2017 at her home.

She was born June 1, 1950 in Oakland City to Lorrell Eugene Bolin and Barbara Nixon.

She was a graduate of Lockyear College and worked as a QMA at several nursing homes, also worked as a social worker.

She is preceded in death by her father, sister; Barbara Eugena Bolin, stepsons; James Oakman, Daryl Hughes.

She is survived by her husband John E. Hughes, mother Barbara Nixon of Petersburg, children: Frank(Carrie) C. Oakman of Muncie, IN, Jerry(Amanda) Oakman of Loogootee, IN, Michael Oakman, Terri (Kelly) L. Richeson both of Oakland City, Robert C. Oakman, Mary(Bill) B. Hall, step- daughter Susie (Brian) Oakman Miley all of Winslow, step-son David Hughes of Francisco: siblings; Rory(Nancy) Bolin of Peoria, AZ, Denton(Treva) Bolin of New Johnville, TN, Darla (Jeff) Frizzell, Debbie Bolin, Darrel (Amy) Bolin all of Portage, IN, 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and her precious pet choochie.

Services will be Saturday February 4, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Lamb Basham Memorial Chapel, burial in Montgomery Cemetery, Pastor Frank Oakman officiating. Visitation will be Saturday 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
