Andrea Renee (Aydelott) Hoffman won her final battle with cancer Jan. 15, 2017 surrounded by family and friends at her parents’ home.

She was born Oct. 8, 1975 to Gary and Carolyn (Richardson) Aydelott in Evansville, Indiana. 

“Dandoo” was raised in a loving home. She especially enjoyed trying to put gray hairs on her parent’s head by doing things like climbing to the top of a grain bin at three years old. She was also very helpful to her mother by disciplining her baby sister Kimmy “for mom”.
In her youth, Andrea was involved in 4-H and athletics in the Pike County School Corporation. She was a cheerleader and active in dance, swimming, and basketball. She had a crazy sense of humor, often pulling pranks on teachers and classmates. She was known for her personality that made everyone feel special to her; and her giving heart, often (literally) giving the clothes off her back to others she thought needed them more. She was a friend to all, but none more than the underdog. Andreas beauty on the outside almost matched her internal beauty. She was named queen in many local pageants.  Andrea was a member of Arthur General Baptist Church, she attended Oakland City University, she worked as a CNA, activities director at Wirth Hospital, her passion was to work with the disabled.  Andrea’s loving heart, compassion, and patience led her to become a caregiver to many suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia and she most enjoyed bringing a little joy into their lives. Andrea fought and won many personal battles in her life, all preparing her for her war on breast cancer. After being diagnosed she usually still had the biggest smile in the room, and those big brown eyes always sparkled. She used her struggles with this horrible disease to motivate and inspire others. She worked tirelessly to raise awareness and through her work has saved lives. She had an “Army” of support and felt it every day. She loved to support the Komen Foundation and in turn received a lot of love and support from them. No matter how much she hurt she was always likely to ask you how you were doing before you could ask her. Through her cancer Andrea taught us to live and enjoy life to the fullest every day and to never, ever, ever say uncle. Andrea had a way of making everyone feel like they were extremely special but none more than her kids. In Corbin, we see her strength, determination, leadership and love of helping others; and in Josie her energy and ability to light up a room with her big beautiful eyes.

Andrea was preceded in death by her grandparents Bob and Pauline Aydelott and Luke Richardson.

Andrea is survived by her son Corbin Hoffman and his father Blake; and her daughter Josie Hill and her father Joe. She is also survived by her parents Gary and Carolyn Aydelott, brother Jeff Aydelott (Michelle), and sister Kimberly Miller (Tony); nephews Kaden Davis and Kole Aydelott, and nieces Kodee Miller and Karly Aydelott; and grandmother Virginia Richardson, and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Andreas family would like to thank her “Army” for all the support, Dr. Fox and his team, the Evansville chapter of the Komen Foundation, and Hospice. Love others and get a mammogram.

Services will be Friday January 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM (Pike County Time) at Lamb Basham Memorial Chapel, burial at Blackfoot Cemetery, Rev. Kyle Moore, Larry Johnson, Ralph Newkirk officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 3:00 PM-8:00 PM (Pike County Time) and Friday 9:00 AM until service time at the chapel.
