Gerald Wayne Stewart, 79 of Palestine, TX passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at East Texas Medical Center Tyler.
He was born Thursday, January 28, 1937 in Owensville, IN son of Alva Gerald and Marguerite (Yarbor) Stewart.
He was a professional truck driver for 62 years (Red Horse)
drove for Mobil Oil Corp., in Texas and Indiana. Retiring and returned to work
driving for Wal Mart Transportation. Retired again and returned to work driving
for Hertz. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a former member of
St. Joseph Catholic Church before moving to Texas.
He is survived by his wife Juliana Judy) Stewart, Daughters;
Roumilda Bradfield and Cindy (Russell) Harris of
Princeton, son; Gerald Stewart, Jr., and “almost daughter-in-law” Janice
Johnson of Magnolia, TX, sister, Lois (John) Sprinkle of Ft. Branch, IN,
brother, Dan Stewart (Ron Hoover) of Conroe, TX, grandchildren; Dustin (Brenda)
Stewart, Colby (Harris) Black, and Caleb Poe and Chris Harris all of Princeton,
IN, great-grandchildren; Jalen, Ashlen, Peyton,
Dustin, Izzabella Stewart of Princeton and Megan of
Evansville, IN and Felicia Mathis of Mt. Carmel, IL.
Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, daughter
Marcia Pugh, brothers; Fred, Rick and Steve, sister; Sandra Kay Riley.
Gerald never met a stranger and loved his family and
friends.
A funeral mass was held in Palestine, TX and cremation then
took place. His cremains have been brought back to Indiana for a memorial
service to be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Doyle Funeral
Home located at 520 S. Main St., Princeton, IN with Deacon Mark Wade
officiating.
A time of visitation with the family will take place on Saturday from 2:00 pm
until time of service.
