Yvonne Selby, 81, of
Princeton, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Home
in Oakland City, IN.
She was born November 15,
1935 in Gibson County to the late Wm. Alvin and Margaret E. (Evans) Williams
and lived her lifetime in this area.
She was retired from the
Gibson General Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She also worked as a nurse’s aide at
The Waters of Princeton and River Oaks Health Campus. She was a longtime member
of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW, Eagles and American Legion. She and her
husband Marlin loved dancing and traveling. Their favorite location was Loretta
Lynn’s Dude Ranch. Their traveling companions were John & Martina Selby.
She was also a faithful longtime follower of Gary Dawson and his band.
She is survived by her 2
children, Bob Selby (Beth) of Princeton and Cody Selby (Deborah) of Princeton;
5 grandchildren, Whitney Lynn (Selby) Ziebell, Makaylin Nicole Selby, Abby, Kristin and Chase; 6 great
grandchildren; 4 siblings, Lillian Mae Elledge,
Margaret Alice Hylton, Harold Williams and Betty
Louis Saumer; and many nieces and nephews that she
was fond of.
She was preceded in death by
her parents; husband, Marlin W. Selby in 1994; and 16 brothers and sisters.
Graveside Services will be
held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Hazleton Community
Cemetery, with Rev. Larry Meadows officiating. Burial will follow. Family and
friends will meet at the funeral home to go in precession to the cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
