Byron J. Robling, 90 passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.
He was born July 31, 1926 in Princeton to Byron P. and Lillie Mae (Dossett) Robling.
Byron had lived in Princeton most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. He was a former member of VFW Post 1147. He retired as a head mechanic for the Gibson County Highway Department. He had previously worked for Princeton Plating Plant, worked for the Southern Shops and had operated a Sinclair Gas Station in Princeton.
He is survived by 2 sons; Charles (Nila) Robling of Hazleton and Dave (Brenda) Robling of Beech Grove, IN; 2 daughters-in-law, Myra Robling of Princeton and Debbie Robling of Missouri; grandchildren, Larry Jr., Lanny and Matthew Robling, Stephanie Smith, David and Dustin Robling; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wilma Robling in 1996; infant son Byron, and sons, Jeff Robling in 2007 and Larry Robling in 2014; 4 sisters, Helen DeBoard, Beatrice Young, Hustaline Foley and Millie Stagner.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Jerry Wibert officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in rural Princeton. Graveside military rites will be provided by the Retired Military Veterans. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
