Russell Edward “Rusty” Rainey, 52, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 at his residence.

He was born May 31, 1964 in Oakland City, Indiana to Russell Wayne and Janice (Miller) Rainey of Oakland City, IN.

He was married to Holly (Karney) Rainey on November 25, 1989.

He was a 1982 graduate of Wood Memorial High School and was a Supervisor at Waupaca Foundry for 19 years. He was a member of the Army National Guard. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing, especially deep sea fishing.

Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Holly (Karney) Rainey; his children, Tim (Erica) Rainey of Huntingburg, Tyler (Breanne) Rainey of Holland, Morgan (Andy) Carter and Trent Rainey of Tell City; and his sister, Connie (Mike) Hill of Mt. Olympus, IN. He had 5 grandchildren: Addysen Rainey, Hadley Rainey, Remington Rainey, Mason Carter, and Jake Carter. Preceding him in death is his sister, Selicia (Lisa) Hughes.

Funeral Services will be at 10 AM, Thursday, October 6 at the First United Methodist Church in Tell City with Pastor Sam Padgett officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 5 from 2-8 PM and from 8:30-9:30 AM Thursday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
