Lucille Abbott McKinney, 84 years of age, was called to her Heavenly Father from her home in Haubstadt, IN on October 14, 2016 at 9:42P.M.
Lucille is now at her much deserved peace and eternal rest without any further pain. Lucille was a fighter, a loving and very devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt and friend who always wanted to help whomever she could through the journey of life. She seemed to always overcome many life challenges. She was a life time resident of Gibson County, a 60 year member of Nobles Chapel United Methodist Church and loved to stop at Dairy Queen for a pineapple sundae.
Surviving are her son Daniel McKinney of Haubstadt IN, her daughters Diana (Richard) Lamb of Haubstadt, IN, Judy (Gary) Breivogel of Newburgh,IN, and her best friend and dearly loved companion Chip, who was always at her side to the end. Grandchildren, Eric (Janice), Alan and Jamie Lamb, Kayla (Steve) Kuepper, and Erika Breivogel. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Floyd "Mac" McKinney in 1999. Sisters, Ailene Meyer, Ruth Ferguson, Christine Lane, Ellen White, and Thelma Fetterman. Brothers, Ancil, Hershell Garrett, Jack, Hallard "Junior" Abbott, and her parents May and Hallard Abbott.
She is also survived by brothers-in-law Verner Ferguson and Jim Lane, and sister-in-law Mary Abbott.
Celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday October 18, 2016 at the Nobles Chapel United Methodist Church in Elberfeld, IN officiated by Pastor Rick Gooden and Pastor Lisa Resler. Burial to follow in the Nobles Chapel Cemetery. Friends and family may visit Monday October 17,2016 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home, Fort Branch, IN.
