Frank C. Gonzales, 87, of Oakland City, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, IN.

He was born on January 29, 1929 in Lyman, Nebraska to Joseph and Rafaela (Campos) Gonzales, who both preceded him in death.

He lived in Oakland City for over 40 years. He served in the US Army-Air Force. He retired in 1977 from the Keensburg Amax Coal Mine. He was a member of the UMWA Local #1791 in Keensburg. He loved to travel and camp. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Oakland City, IN He is survived by his wife, Gerrie Gonzales; sons, Frank, Richard, Adrian, Abraham, Charles, Joseph and Kenneth Gonzolas; daughters, Cynthia, Christina, Elizabeth, Louanna, Bonnie, Cristal and Andrea Gonzales; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sister, Susie; and brothers, Raphael and Charles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Oakland City, Father Frank Renner, Celebrant. Visitation will be from 11 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City.
