Darvin H. Lamey, 89, of Haubstadt, IN Passed away peacefully with his family at his side at West River Health Campus in Evansville, IN, after a battle with colon cancer for 11 years.
He was born on Aug. 3, 1927 in Haubstadt, IN to the late Victor and Rose (Korressell) Lamey.
Darvin was a lifetime farmer and was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN. He was also one of the oldest members of the Haubstadt Knights of Columbus. Darvin had a passion for collecting antique cars.
Besides his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife Virginia (Ritter) Lamey, a son, Randy Lamey, a daughter, Becky Lamey, and his brother, Alvin Lamey.
Darvin is survived by 2 children, Dr. Ray (Tracie) Lamey of Newburgh, IN, and Mona Lamey of Haubstadt, IN. 11 grandchildren, Paul and David Lamey, Cory, Dr. Brittany, Dustin and Casey Tenbarge, Emilie Vanover and Valerie Lamey, Justin Hagenseiker, Kacie Hagenseiker-Jones, and Jacob Fink.
A Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, Sept. 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, Fathers Tony Ernst and Biju Thomas. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN, and again on Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church. The family would like to thank all of the staff at West River Health Campus and the staff of Gentiva Hospice.
