Portia A. Cochren 97 of Oakland City, IN entered rest on Sunday September 18, 2016 at Deaconess Hospice Center.

She was born on May 16, 1919 in Glezen, IN to Moses and Florence (Robling) Howard.

She was a member of the First General Baptist Church, Philathea Class and Women Missionary Society where she served as past president for both also member American Legion #256 Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by parents and husband John Cochren, son Bobby Glenn Knight. She is survived by her daughter Vicky Kline of Oakland City.

Services will be Friday September 23, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with burial in Montgomery Cemetery, Rev. Alec Hensley officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until services on Friday.
