Mae Dean “Tad” Wright, 87, of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton. She was born July 14, 1929 in Princeton, Indiana and had lived here most of her lifetime. She was a member of Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton. She was in a card club that started as a senior in high school and maintained those relationships throughout her life. She and her husband John had owned and operated a grocery store business, Wright’s Grocery, which was on Ohio Street in Princeton. She retired from Hansen Mfg. Co. in Princeton where she had worked for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John William Wright of Princeton; a son, Gary Wright (Teresa) of John’s Island, SC; a granddaughter, Rechelle Glidewell (David) of Clarksville, TN; a great grandson, Ian Glidewell; a sister, Marian Slade of Seymour, IN; and also Mike Watkins of Princeton, who was like an adopted son.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Harley and Anna Mae (Miller) Dearing; and a son, Stan Wright.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016, Graveside at the Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton, with Rev. Jarmon Perkins officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the services. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
