Haskell (Hack) E. Wallace, 81, of Oakland City, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his home.

He was born on July 21, 1935 in Princeton, IN.

He was a US Navy veteran serving in Korea. He was a coalminer at Old Ben Coal Mine for 24 years, retiring in 1997. He was the past president of U.M.W.A. #1487, and a member of the Operators Union #181. He was past commander of the Princeton American Legion Post#25. He was a member of the Oakland City Mason Lodge #467 F&AM. He was twice Past Exalted Ruler of the Princeton Elks Lodge#634.

He is survived by his children, Terry (Brenda) Wallace of Francisco and Kelly “Crickett” (Dustin) Odom of Oakland City; 5 grandchildren, Brandy Ellerbrook, Derek Odom, Dustin Odom, Alescia Bradshaw and Shari Goodson; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his step father and mother, Oscar and Dora (Wallace) Chapman; his wife, Carolyn “Sue” Wallace in 2002; and 2 brothers, Henry and Charles Chapman.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm (CDT) on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, officiated by Rev. Bill Gadberry. Burial will be at the Augusta Cemetery in Winslow. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2 pm on Friday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home. Military Graveside Services by retired military veterans.
