Grace Lucille Knight, 98, Connersville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016. She was born March 2, 1918, in Gibson County, the daughter of Elmer and Nellie Morris.
She graduated from Owensville High School in 1936. On Aug. 8, 1936, she married Roy Knight in Albion, Illinois.
She enjoyed many years with him until he passed on April 26, 2009. Together, they owned and operated Knight’s Custom Gun Shop.
Grace was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Connersville. She also belonged to Questers, Tri Kappa, and the Olga Golf Association.
She loved to play golf, and played well into her late-80s. For many years she enjoyed traveling to Camplake in Iron River, Michigan for their vacations.
Grace’s memory continues on through her loved ones, including two grandchildren, Robert (Heidi) Knight, of Granger, and Susan Knight, of Bloomington; a great-grandson, Christopher (Sara) Knight, of Indianapolis; a great-great-grandson, Royce Knight, of Indianapolis, a sister, Ruth Garrett, of Owensville and a nephew, Wayne Morris, of Mount Carmel, Illinois. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Knight, on April 7, 2009; as well as two brothers, Robert Morris, and Claude Morris.
The service for Mrs. Knight is Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at 11 a.m., at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville, with Leonard Urban officiating. Burial follows at Dale Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Friday evening from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
