Lenza Byerly 87, of Patoka, IN passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Patoka on February 16, 1929 to Cleveland and
Myrtle Claymire Byerly,
both of which precede.
Lenza was a 1947 graduate of
Patoka High School. Upon graduating he enlisted into the US Army on December 5,
1950. Serving during the Korean War until his discharge on September 6, 1952,
during his time of service he was the recipient of 3 Purple Hearts.
He married Clarabelle Wright on January 29, 1950 in
Princeton, IN who preceded him on April 5, 2006.
After his time in the military, he worked for Snap On Tools
as an electrician retiring after 25 years.
He is survived by a son, Mike (Nichole) Byerly
of Hazleton, IN and daughter, Karen (Joe) McDaniels
of Princeton, IN. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 31 great
grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded by his parents, wife, and son Richard Byerly, daughters, Vicki McIntire and Cheryl Clark. He is
also preceded by brothers, Richard and Nelson as well as sisters; Beverly,
Dorothy and Evelyn and grandson, Matt Byerly.
Cremation will take place and there will be a time of visitation with the family on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Doyle Funeral Home located at 520 S. Main St. Princeton, IN 47670. Military honors will be performed by the Retired Military Veterans Group at 3:00 P.M. For more information call 812-385-4334.
