Betty Jane (Sullivan) Blanton, 88, a lifetime resident of Hazleton, IN passed from this earth on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg, IN.

She was born August 21, 1927 in Hazleton, IN to Ellis “Pat” and Agnes Marie (Degenhart) Sullivan.

She married Thomas N. Blanton on August 17, 1946, and was a homemaker and beautician.

She is survived by her 3 sons, Thomas E. (Deborah) Blanton of Princeton, Joe S. and Donald E. (Pauletta) Blanton of Hazleton; her daughter, Nila J. (Ron) Sharp of Petersburg; her younger sister, Lois Mae Blanton of Ft. Branch; 4 grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Gladish of Petersburg, Jared (Jean) Blanton of Newburgh, Justin (Amanda) Blanton of Evansville, Jodi (James) Israel of Cedar City, Utah; 4 step-grandchildren, Heather (Matt) Thombleson of Allendale, IL, Jeff (Christy) Burns of Petersburg, Cori Sharp of Arthur and Kyle Sharp of Texas; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommy; brother, Stanley Sullivan; granddaughter, Jamie Dahn Burns; and a grandson, Thomas Paul Blanton.

Graveside Services will be held at 1pm (CDT) on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the Union Community Cemetery in Union, IN, with family friend, Pastor Larry Meadows officiating. Burial will follow. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm (CDT) on Saturday at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN.
