Jessie M. (Buck) Memmer, 91 of Buckskin, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, Indiana. She was born November 9, 1924 in Buckskin, the second child of Chris H. and Lula S. (Munnier) Buck.
Jesse was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Family was very important to her and she loved having everyone at her home to cook all of her special dishes.
She was a 1942 graduate of Mackey High School. She met her husband (Adrin G. Memmer) in high school and they were married when he returned from service on June 10, 1945.
Jessie was a lifetime member of St. John’s Church in Buckskin where she taught Sunday school for 30 years in the kindergarten class. She was also an active member of the Women’s Guild, a 4-H leader, nurse’s aide at school, Avon lady, and babysat for numerous children.
Jessie loved to decorate her home for all holidays, crochet, cook & bake, canning, playing cards, fishing, and we don’t want to forget dancing. Probably her most favorite role was doing sewing and alterations. She worked away from home and also out of her home making curtains and many wedding and prom dresses.
She is survived by her children, Brenda (Ron) Miley of Francisco and Steven (Teresa) Memmer of Oakland City; son-in-law, David Bottoms of Buckskin; six grandchildren, Chad (Amanda) Bottoms, Dena (Donnie) Balder, Josh (Andrea) Miley, Jamie Naas (Fiancé Jason Corbett), Blake (Tami) Memmer & Brandon Memmer; five great-grandchildren, Nolan & Saydee Bottoms, Kadence & Kimber Balder & Bailey Naas; two sisters, Shirley (Harry) Higginson of Haubstadt & Pat (Jerry) Thompson of Evansville.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, July 8, 2016 at St. John’s Church in Buckskin. Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery in Buckskin. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 PM on Thursday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
