Joe Downey Floyd, 83, of Hanson, Kentucky, died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, of natural causes.

He was born in Princeton Nov. 2, 1932, to Robert and Dorothy May (Purcell) Floyd. His mother died in childbirth.

He a U.S. Air Force veteran and owned and operated a moving and storage business. 

He was also preceded in death by his father and mother who raised him, Margaret Floyd; two sons, Eric Blane and Jeffery Todd Floyd; and a sister, Sharon Lee Miley.

Surviving are a sister, Linda (Tom) Reineri of Cedar Hill, Missouri; and nieces and nephews.

King’s Funeral Home of Hanson is in charge of arrangements. There will be no service. Burial is at a later date at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch.
