Mary Sue (Reibel) Spindler, 63, returned to her heavenly home on June 3, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.  She was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Mary Sue was born to the late Walter and Dorothy (Glomp) Reibel, in Evansville, IN on May 14, 1953.

She was a 1971 graduate of Haubstadt High School and a graduate of Lockyear College of Business. She worked for Women's Healthcare PC/Evansville OB-GYN for over 32 years, retiring when she became ill.  She enjoyed her work and treasured the many friendships she made.  Her most cherished role in life was that of Mom and Nana. 

Mary Sue is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bernie Spindler, Sr.; one son, Bernie Spindler, Jr. (Lori) of Snake Run; two daughters, Christy (Joe) Walker of Haubstadt, and Cheryl Spindler of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn Roth and Kamden Walker, Madelyn, Kristen, Adam, and Audrey Spindler.  She is also survived by three sisters, Beverly Kruse of Elberfeld, Joanne (Larry) Stone of Ft. Branch, and Janet Collins of Haubstadt; and two sisters-in-law Marilyn Reibel and Jo Reibel

Along with her parents, Mary Sue is preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Reibel, Jr. and Jim Reibel

During her illness Mary Sue and family were grateful for the exceptional care she received from Drs. Maqbool Ahmed and Noah Taylor, the staff at the Deaconess Chancellor Center for Oncology, and the staff of Deaconess Gateway Unit A500.

Visitation will be held at Stodghill Funeral Home in Ft. Branch, IN on Monday, June 6 from 2 to 8 pm, with rosary service beginning at 2 pm.  Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7 from 9 to 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN.  The funeral Mass will begin at 10 am celebrated by Father Tony Ernst and Deacon Charlie Koressel.
